The culture shock of Western expats moving between Asian countries (East-West Leadership video)

The majority of large multinational firms come from the West, but most growth and profit is not in the West for global firms anymore. In search of the opportunities of ‘the Asian century’, Western expats increasingly move from one Asian country to another. The culture shock of East-to-East relocations is different from moving from a Western home base to Asia, and therefore requires a different mindset, preparations and new habits. In this video I (Intercultural leadership consultant Gabor Holch) explain why expatriate managers and their firms so often neglect the culture shock of moving from one Asian location to the other, how the East-East experience differs from East-West relocation and how decision-makers can use advanced intercultural assessment to map and manage transfers from one to another Asian country.
